Writing scientific articles for undergraduate students: A need analysis

<span lang="EN-US">Excellent and appropriate teaching materials are based on the results of needs analysis. They significantly affect students’ ability to write scientific articles increase their knowledge understanding papers required by indexed reputable journals. This article explores target (i.e., necessities, lacks, wants) for accredited journal criteria writing. The design used is a case study. data were collected using questionnaire about theory Hutchinson Waters, namely wants, focus group interview. showed that students must learn improve writing quality. Regarding lack learning material articles, 85.53% indicated IMRAD or introduction, method, result discussion, conclusion format research articles. According perceptions, restating objective approach creating gap most difficult. Among 72 participants, 80% mentioned how found be critical skill they want in new course then followed summarizing presenting data.</span>
